Give us a title and we’ll take it from there! With 101 Things to Do on a Walk, we were given the title and set about creating the entire book from scratch.
We planned and wrote 101 ideas to get children exploring, making, playing and looking more closely at the natural world – from den-building, fossil hunting and stone skimming to cloud watching, nature rubbings and shadow puppets. We designed the pages as a colourful, layered scrapbook, commissioned and art-directed the illustration from our layout scamps and sourced photography from image libraries – even roping in family and friends to feature in some of our own photos! The result is a book packed with games, activities, things to make and photograph, and plenty of reasons to get outside and turn an everyday walk into an adventure.
